I was initially hesitant to stay at a hotel near the train station due to concerns about noise and crowds. However, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at this hotel, located just a 3-minute walk from Gare de Bordeaux Saint Jean. It's remarkably safe. The proximity to Tram C/D, which runs frequently, and the 10-minute ride to downtown Bordeaux make it incredibly convenient. The breakfast, with fresh orange juice, coffee, bread, and an excellent egg maker, elevates my mornings. The staff, including the receptionists, cafe staff, and housekeeping, are consistently friendly and welcoming. Plus, having bars and restaurants downstairs makes it easy to grab a drink or meal at night. While the tobacco shop downstairs may get crowded at night, I appreciated that the nighttime receptionist's extra precautions to limit access to hotel guests only by activating a security lock on the entrance when he temporarily left the desk for dealing with the other hotel issues. The only drawback was that my room on the 1st floor and next to the stairs, allowed me to hear footsteps and doors opening every morning around 8 am. Although I had requested a quiet room with an open view when booking the room on-line, which they might not have been able to accommodate, I still highly recommend this hotel and am grateful to the entire team for their hospitality.
Really good place to stay for a budget hotel rooms are ample and well equipped beds are comfortable. The welcoming note and gifts went down as storm with our group the only problem was the stairs if you have limited mobility as there is no lift to the other floors but the staff went above and beyond to be helpful and moved one of our group to a lower floor. As for location its literally the other side of the street from the train station and the tram stop is about 50 mt away also you have coffee bars, bars and restaurants next door. Would not have to think twice about staying here again
Hotel is by the train station. Rooms have a good size, plenty to tidy. Staff is very warm and welcoming, 24hr reception. Breakfast is very good, sweet and salty choices. Bottles of water with tea or coffee available in the bedroom.
I really don’t understand the negative reviews. Yes there is no elevator but that is not the hotels fault. They brought our luggage up to our room so I don’t see the issue that others are having. The staff are extremely friendly and gave us water and bottled beverages whenever we entered the lobby. Yes the rooms don’t have air conditioning but they have a cooling fan that they can help you put ice packs in the bottom to help. Air conditioning is not a common thing in Europe so this is to be expected. They try their best with what they have. I found this hotel to be extremely worth the price and I would return. It seems others complaining just need something to complain about. It is a bit of a walk to the city centre; however, the trams are just across the street and easy to navigate.
I booked an accessible room in June 2023 for an overnight stay on 15-16 July 2023. Booked directly from their website. It was around €108 plus less than €2 for tax, so roughly €110. I checked in past 9pm. The guy in the reception was very nice. He gave me a bottle of cold mineral water upon arrival. I did not avail of the breakfast because I have an early train to Lourdes the next day. My room, because it is accessible, is literally beside the restaurant. It has 2 doors, one from the restaurant and another one from outside the restaurant where the mini garden and al-fresco dining happen. The room was nice. Not that big but good enough for 1-2 people. I was solo travelling so it was just right for me. What I really loved is the bathroom and toilet. It is spacious. And I love the minimalist finish. My only concern was because it is summer right now and the room does not have air condition, it was quite warm. There is a fan provided though. As there is no window, I would have opened the door for a bit of ventilation and cool breeze however, I feel like the room was too exposed if I sleep while the door is open. But I still managed to sleep anyway. No problemo! =) The kindness of the service staff, from the reception staff at check-in to the night staff to the morning staff who took the room keys when I checked out was impeccable. Many thanks!
